Employment Support
We work in partnership with local businesses and community organisations to support those clients that have requested to go to work either in paid employment or on a voluntary basis.
The service supports people to get to work and may also assist them to gain the skills to travel there unaided. Staff may give support to the client in the workplace until they have gained the necessary skills both to do the job and to fit comfortably into the culture of the workplace.
Kettles Café
Many of our clients have the chance to work at Kettles Café. Located on Nantwich Road, we opened Kettles in 2002 with the aim of providing work experience opportunities for our clients. Open to the public, clients are encouraged to work shifts of up to three hours at Kettles and help both behind the scenes with washing-up and front of house with taking orders, taking meals to customers and clearing the tables.
It provides clients with a supportive and encouraging working environment in which they can gain confidence and understanding of what is required of them in the workplace.
Whilst some clients come along with our Daily Options team, others come by themselves either walking or using public transport.
