Ian's Story
Ian has been living by himself for the past 18 months in Nantwich. Originally from Aberdeen, 47 year-old Ian has been with us for five years.
After encountering difficulties living in a flat on his own in Crewe when he first joined us, Ian moved into one of our residential houses with 24 hour support.
Through a tailored, yet structured action plan, we have supported and encouraged Ian to develop the confidence and skills which has now enabled Ian to live successfully in his own home.
Ian said: "I didn't like living with other people as it was too noisy and I always wanted to live on my own. Lady Verdin Trust helps me do what I want to do and they take care of me."
As well as a phone call every night from his support team, Ian receives up to five hours support a day from our Daily Options team who help him with shopping, money, tidying up and cooking.
Ian also works at Kettles Café one day a week and enjoys visiting the pub and the odd trip to the "bookies" with his friends.
