The Lady Verdin Trust was established as a registered charity in December 1982 when it took over a small hostel situated in the South Cheshire village of Wrenbury.
Over the next seven years as client numbers increased, more clients were supported into open employment and attending part time college courses. In addition, an individualised day service was provided whereby clients received time with a key worker to pursue their own activities.
Between 1990 and 1991, the first moves away from the original hostel based accommodation became a reality with the acquisition of two houses in the community.
In 1992 the Trust appointed a full time Operations Manager and became a "not for profit" company limited by guarantee.
Since then the Trust has continued to expand its housing throughout the communities of Crewe and Nantwich, as well as develop its services across education, leisure and employment.
Most recently, the Trust opened a new drop-in facility known as the Purple Onion at Breeden House, in the town centre of Crewe.
