The Organisation

The Trust, which was established twenty years ago, is an organisation with a strong individual culture, the fundamental basis of which is a philosophy of equality and mutual respect for all people regardless of their "status" in society. This philosophy results in people who do need support, receiving it in a discrete and tactful manner. The support we provide covers a very diverse range of needs and includes people who are elderly, people with profound learning difficulties, people who have complex medical needs and those whose behaviour may challenge services. All the services we provide are fully integrated into the local community and address the individual needs in the client's life. The present client group comprise ladies and gentlemen between the ages of 18 to 90 years whose needs vary from almost independent to requiring full-time support and care. From our well-established organisational and philosophical base, we have developed a flexible, committed work force whose enthusiasm for "doing a good job", whatever the job may be, is paramount. This has been achieved because we are totally committed to the ongoing support of all our staff whereby individual performance, teamwork and total quality are constantly reviewed and reinforced. We have a staff group of over one hundred people most of whom work directly with the clients with just eight providing all administration, clerical, training, maintenance and development services. The Lady Verdin Trust is a "not for profit" company limited by guarantee as well as a registered charity and since we do not have the management and administrative overheads that tend to be a significant feature of larger organisations we are very efficient and competitive.
